How do Pets Work?
Inventory Pets have unique and powerful abilities that become active when they are in your inventory hotbar. These effects expire if they are taken out of your hotbar or they have not been fed. Bad owner!
How do I get an Inventory Pet?

Recipe Key
Here's an example recipe for the Creeper. Emerald Nuggets on the Outside, his favorite Food at the Top Center (Gunpowder), Diamond in the Center, and Gold Ingot at the bottom.
Most pets follow the above recipe structure. Materials for each pet (except Legendary) are listed above with the individual pets.
Full recipes now shown above in Pet-O-Pedia!

Dungeon Facts
How Do I Care for My Pets?
Each pet has unique foods they like to eat. Keep a small stack of this food anywhere in your inventory and they will find it and eat it. Nom! Some pets eat after a certain number of uses, other pets eat 1-2 times per Minecraft day. For more information on individual feeding habits, see the Pet-O-Pedia above.
Other Pet Care Facts:
Can I use multiple Pets at once?
Yes! That's part of the fun of the game. You can mix and match and combine fill up your hotbar with up to 9 Inventory Pets.
Can I use this in my modpack? Will it run on servers? Will it be compatible with other mods? Can I post it on spam sites?
Yes, yes, yes, no.
I'm having issues with Lag, what can I do?
Most of the issues have to do with the way 1.7.10 loads chunks. There are two ways to fix these issues:
- Try out FastCraft, found here: http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=10820. It's compatible with Inventory Pets and works on both Client and Server.
- You can turn off Dungeon creation in the config file, and just acquire Pets through crafting. You can also turn on the recipes for the Legendary pets in the config file as well.
Is this mod fun?
ZOMG! It's the funnest mod since that other really fun one you used to play!

We welcome any more contributions or updates, and in particular looking for Russian and Japanese. The current lang file can be found on GitHub.
PVP
Though not intended as a PVP mod, Inventory Pets is really, really fun in PVP. Ridiculously fun.
Examples of PVP games:
- Choose 8 pets each and one weapon (no food)
- Ghast/Cloud/Weapon vs. Ghast/Cloud/Weapon (flying battle)
- You can also turn off 'Pets Must Eat' in the config file so you don't have to always refuel
Note: The AOE Pets and the Black Hole now work with Scoreboard Teams (for both buffs and negative effects). To turn on Moon, Black Hole, and Dubstep to affect other players, just update the setting in the config.
If anyone makes a great PVP map and/or video for Inventory Pets, we'd gladly post it here.

This... is new. I'm genuinely surprised, it's pretty ingenious. Is it possible to disable crafting them, so they're only found as prizes for finding these dungeons? If not, then hopefully they're expensive, because some of these are hella useful, maybe a bit too much. Great mod though, I'll give it a whirl.

Hey Serrix. Thanks for the kind words. We tried to make this as balanced as we could, without killing the fun. Most pets have steep crafting requirements (minimum Diamond + Gold Ingot + other found items), and the Legendary pets cannot be crafted at all. Plus you have to feed them :). We like your idea of being able to turning crafting, and will add it as a config file option in the next update.

Ah, right then. Although even if it's slow, repairing all my inventory items is pretty powerful. I didn't check, is the Anvil's crafting requirement pretty darn steep?
Also there wasn't any warning that the Chest on the Cloud would have spawned a Blaze ;~; Got knocked right off and straight to the ground. Almost didn't find my stuff again, lost a couple of things. Darn you.
Anyways, what else is in the next update, have to wonder as well?

Sorry about that, Serrix. Yes, there are Blazes up there There are also water breathing Cave spiders in the Sea Caves, and fast moving Zombies in the Dungeons. The Treetops have no mob defenses.
What's next? Custom Pets you can choose abilities for (via config file) and add your own custom animations. Plus server compatability.

A Cave Spider! A little Poison damage-dealing there. Plus maybe the Spider's wall-climbing, but not a Speed Boost? *shrug*
Also, you haaaaad to use that Om nom nom voice clip, didn't you :c Given how small they are, I'd have though the pets would have small, higher-pitched voices. Wasn't really expecting OM NOM NOM NOM.

Useful mod, but to what extend does it support the Ore Dictionary? My main concerns are: A) are the nuggets usable as Thaumcraft/Thermal Foundation nuggets, and B ) are nuggets from other mods usable as food for the pets?

If I'm rude to you, just tell me. Don't take it too personally. Well, unless you were being stupid. If you were, DO take it personally.
#12 Apr 10, 2015
Hey IANNOVA. Our Nuggets are in OreDictionary, so they should be usable in other mods if they're using OreDictionary recipes (Thaum + TE). On our side, we'll take a look at using other mod nuggets for food... they are in some recipes already, but not foods. Good suggestion!

Two suggestions, one harder than the other.
1.) Cross mod compatible pets, e.g. you have Grimoire of Gaia installed as well, it'd load the pets for that mod (such as vampire which would give a small life drain effect on attack) or Lycanites mobs (which no one likes because they feel out of place in minecraft but something like a Lobber pet that would throw a lava ball that would flow lava like normal and deal damage than disappear). Or something along those lines with other mob mods; not limited to those two.
2.) A cool down of sorts so you don't spam pets, or does feeding them act enough like a cool down? (Haven't tested it much)
The first one was an idea since there isn't much vanilla mobs, and other mob mods would be pretty interesting. I know it's in the early stages but one can dream

Hey mxmmnm. Technically, it does run on servers, but the client will crash with certain pets (e.g., Spider, Cloud). That's what we're working on
